Why does N64 emulation still suck so hard? Almost every game I play, either plays like shit or has graphical glitches. Mixing and matching different plug-ins is like some lame RE1 style puzzle.
It's sad that DC and PS2 emulation is more advanced than the N64's. All I want to do is play Mystical Ninja without walls and trees suddenly popping into thin air in my face. ;_; |

Yeah, I've never been able to appreciate a full serving of Yoshi's Island 2 because of that. I'm also pissed that they still haven't gotten Indiana Jones to work yet.

I'd almost go so far as to say Wii and Gamecube emulation is better than N64 emulation. |

Beside all youīre saying, thereīs another problem. Not even a single game on n64 was good enough for me to spend my time. I know, its a matter of taste, but Im talking seriously. The closer Iīve got was with some catlevania game, I donīt remember the name. Not even Zelda or Mario I could appreciate.
But, donīt worry. If you think that n64 emulation sucks, remember that no one could never make an emulator for ODYSSEY!!! (or maybe Iīm out of date, lol) About DC and PS2 is quite simple: I donīt bother wuth them, cause its impossible to play on my pc due the fucking specs ![]() |

Yeahhhh.
N64 emulation sucks. But I still got mostly every game I played to run almost perfectly. The only one I had most problems with was Paper Mario. As for ps2 emulation, NONE of the games I have run perfectly. The NIS SRPG's come really close but I get slowdown every once in a while. The game I wanna play most, Rogue Galaxy, I can't even get to run at half speed. And I have a decent rig. |

I went and donated to get the newest pj64 emu and it still hasn't updated for like years... I use it anyway and it works for most games.

I tried every plugin, but Dr. Mario 64 Just didn't want to work, also I had issues with a few games random crashing...
I know that Paper Mario and Yoshi's Story worked well, but I had to make huge sacrifices in graphic quality for them to work... It wasn't worth it at all

I know what you mean when N64 emulation first started I could barley get a few games working correctly the 2 castlevania games and thats about it. Now Im not having too much of an issue. Mario64 works like a charm and I have seen Super Smash brothers emulated and it was very well emulated. I played star fox 64 and it ran very well. I have also played Wayne Gretzky's 3d hockey and It played pretty well there was a few graphical glitches.
The one game that I want to play is Gauntlet Legends but its way too gltichy graphically. It was the last time I tried to play it many years ago back when n64 emulation was fairly new. I dont know if it still is if anyone could tell me any info with that game I would be very grateful. But now if you want a perfect emulation of Super smash brothers for n64 you can get it from the VC. |

I'm fortunate enough to still have a working N64. Don't know what I'll do when it finally quits on me, that thing is a physical manifestation of my childhood.
